FIA Changes Qualifying Rules

Beginning with the European Grand Prix, Formula One will hold only one qualifying session on Saturday. The ten teams and the Formula One Commission agreed to eliminate the second, Sunday qualifying session. Grid positions will be set by the same single-lap format previously used on Saturday.

Some new procedures will be implemented though. Drivers will qualify in reverse order of the previous race's finishing order. In Europe this weekend, Kimi Raikkonen will qualify last.

Additionally, the cars will have to qualify in race trim and will be held under parc ferme conditions once finished.
