Zanardi Has Advice For Montoya

Former ChampCar champ and ex-Williams F1 driver has said that Juan Pablo Montoya needs to keep his cool if he’s going to succeed in F1. Like Zanardi before him, Montoya is moving from the Ganassi team in America to Williams with championship-winning credentials and a point to prove.

"I think Juan is second to none in terms of talent,”" said Zanardi. "But my advice to him is he must calm down because he is used to winning and he must realise that the car he is about to drive in F1 will not be as good as the car he has been driving in ChampCar. It will not feel as nice. A guy with his level of talent expects to win and he may find it frustrating if the lap time isn’t there. That’s when he could make mistakes. But, he has done enough miles to get the job done in F1, as anyone who has seen him drive will testify. He’s tough and I can’t wait to read what he thinks about Michael Schumacher."
