ARCA Schedule Taking Shape

TOLEDO, Ohio - With much focus on the spirited championship battle that's coming right down to the wire in 2009, ARCA RE/MAX Series officials are busy making plans for 2010. As the series prepares for its 58th consecutive season of competition, the schedule is taking shape.

As it has since 1964, the ARCA RE/MAX Series will open its season at Daytona Int'l Speedway Feb. 6 with the Lucas Oil Slick Mist 200, which will again precede the Budweiser Shootout. As a new addition to an already action-packed day, qualifying for the Daytona 500 will take place on the same day prior to the Lucas Oil Slick Mist 200.

In addition, officials from Texas Motor Speedway have also announced that the ARCA RE/MAX Series will be returning to the Fort Worth, Texas oval on Friday, April 16 in conjunction with pole qualifying for the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series.

The ARCA RE/MAX Series raced at Texas Motor Speedway once in 1998 where Mark Gibson held off Bill Baird for the win.
