April 4, 2009 | 6:27 P.M. EST
Lofton posted a lap of 16.935 seconds for a speed of 117.981 mph around Salem Speedway on Saturday afternoon to earn his second consecutive Menards Pole Award presented by Ansell.
"I want to thank Eddie Sharp, Mark Rette and the entire No. 6 team for all their hard work," said Lofton, "It's their pole award, not mine. Hopefully the rain will hold off and we can bring home another trophy tomorrow. I'm really excited to have two poles in a row. It shows what the right people in the right organization are capable of. I am looking forward to the 2009 season and many more Menard Ansell Pole Awards."
Lofton starts alongside Eddie Sharp Racing teammate Craig Goess in Sunday's Kentuckiana Ford Dealers 200 presented by Federated Car Care.
Lofton and Goess will lead off starting field that includes NASCAR veteran Ken Schrader (qualified sixth) and nine-time ARCA RE/MAX Series Champion/local favorite Frank Kimmel (qualified 11th).
