Menards Sponsoring ARCA Pole Award

TOLEDO, Ohio - Officials from the Automobile Racing Club of America announced today that Menards Home Improvement Stores and Ansell Protective Products have joined the ARCA family of corporate sponsors with a multi-faceted sponsorship program in the ARCA RE/MAX Series.

The announcement comes just one week after Ansell and Menards announced a joint effort to provide primary sponsorship of nine-time ARCA RE/MAX Series Champion Frank Kimmel for 2009.

The program positions Menards as the Official Home Improvement Store of the ARCA RE/MAX Series and Ansell as the Official Safety Glove of the ARCA RE/MAX Series. Both companies will contribute to the Series’ point fund and support 2009 race broadcasts on SPEED. In addition, Menards and Ansell will sponsor the ARCA RE/MAX Series Pole Award Program.

Combined, Menards and Ansell will post a $10,000 bonus to the team whose driver earns the most pole awards during the 2009 ARCA RE/MAX Series season and a $1,000 bonus to each driver who earns a Menards Pole Award presented by Ansell during the 22-race ARCA RE/MAX Series.

“The opportunity to partner with ARCA and Ansell is exciting for Menards,” said Jeff Abbott, company spokesperson for Menard, Inc. “We feel the ARCA fan base is a good fit with our family-owned, customer service oriented, home town hardware stores.”

The marketing program is anchored by a business-to-business relationship between Ansell, the world's largest manufacturer of protective gloves and clothing, and Menards, a Midwestern-based chain of home improvement stores. As a result of the sponsorship, the Ansell line of hand protection products will be available for purchase in each of the nation's 245 Menards Home Improvement Stores.

Retail offerings at Menards range from lawn and garden supplies to lumber, tools and supplies for landscaping, building and remodeling. The home improvement stores cater to the do-it-yourself consumer and the professional contractor, jobber and installer. Menards is based in Eau Claire, Wisconsin and currently has 245 locations in 12 states.

Ansell is the world's largest manufacturer of protective gloves and clothing, providing leadership in the areas of development, design, manufacturing and marketing. Ansell has led the personal protective equipment industry with "Ideas that Fit” for more than 100 years. The global manufacturer has provided comprehensive safety solutions and product innovations to help manufacturers across a wide range of industries reduce worker injuries and boost productivity.

The Menards Pole Award presented by Ansell debuts with qualifying for the Lucas Oil Slick Mist 200 at Daytona Int'l Speedway on Friday, Feb. 6 at Noon (ET).
