KANSAS CITY, Kan. - Sheltra Motorsports announced this week its plan to run a Dodge Charger in a minimum of 10 ARCA RE/MAX Series events this season beginning with Friday's Kansas Lottery $150 Grand at Kansas Speedway.

In addition to the new nameplate, Sheltra Motorsports also unveiled a new paint scheme bringing a unique camouflage look with sponsorship from Aaron's Outdoors.

Starting with Kansas Speedway this weekend, Sheltra Motorsports and driver Patrick Sheltra plan to run the Dodge emblem in nine other events including Kentucky Speedway (May and July), Pocono Raceway (June and August), Michigan International Speedway (June), Nashville Superspeedway (August), Illinois State Fairgrounds (August), DuQuoin State Fairgrounds (September) and Chicagoland Speedway (September).

"I'm very excited about running a Dodge Charger this year in ARCA competition," said Sheltra, who will make his 29th career series start when he takes the green flag in a Dodge at Kansas. "The Dodges have been very competitive in the ARCA RE/MAX Series over the past few years, which led us in their direction."

During the off-season, Sheltra Motorsports purchased three Dodge Chargers from North Carolina's Penske Racing while also transforming one of the team's Chevrolet Monte Carlos to a Dodge Charger.

RC Consultants has partnered with the Whitesville, Kentucky based operation to provide the horsepower for the season. In the past, RC Consultants has provided engines for nine-time ARCA RE/MAX Series champion Frank Kimmel, Jason Jarrett (ML Motorsports) and Matt Hagans. RC Consultants helped power Jarrett to his first career ARCA victory in the series inaugural debut at Kansas in 2001.

Sheltra added, "Our crew is very confident in what we think the Chargers are capable of. They've won the last two Manufacturer championship in ARCA; we wanna help them (Dodge) win another."

"When the opportunity was presented to us to expand our fleet to include Dodges, we could not turn it down," said car owner Grace Sheltra. "We're very happy with the equipment we've acquired and our affiliation with RC Consultants speaks for itself. We're looking forward to helping Dodge continue their winning tradition in ARCA this year."

Sheltra Motorsports, currently competing in their second full season of ARCA RE/MAX Series competition, will sport the Chevrolet bowtie and its Monte Carlo model when not running under the Chrysler banner.

The Kansas Lottery $150 Grand (100 laps/150 miles) is the fourth of 21 events on the 2008 ARCA RE/MAX Series schedule. The eighth ARCA race held at Kansas Speedway is a one-day show. Practice begins Friday, April 25 with a two hour and twenty minute practice session planned from 8:30 a.m. - 10:50 a.m. ARCA SIM Factory pole qualifying is slated to begin at 12:40 p.m. with the field taking the green flag shortly after 4:05 p.m. The race will be next day tape-delayed on SPEED (8:30 p.m. local Saturday). All times are local.
