Record Breaking Pole For Crocker
July 13, 2007 | 7:28 P.M. EST
Erin Crocker, in the Evernham Motorsports Dodge, surpassed Patty Moise as the ARCA RE/MAX Series' all-time female pole winner Friday evening at Kentucky Speedway, earning her fifth career SIM Factory pole award, and third at Kentucky Speedway. Her speed of 177.515 mph was good enough to break a track record set by Steve Wallace in 2006. She sits alongside Michael McDowell for tonight's WLWT Channel 5-150, which is slated to air at 8 p.m. Eastern LIVE on SPEED.
The qualifying session was delayed 90 minutes so that track officials could repair a 60 ft. section of wall along the backstretch. The section was damaged after Pete Shepherd spun during his qualifying run. Shepherd was quickest during a practice session early in the day but will not be among the 41 starters.
